Pixar Pier
Pixar Pier has opened, replacing what was previously known as Paradise Pier.
The entire land looks colorful and beautiful. Everything is freshly painted, and if you didn’t know better, you would say there are a few more trees than before.
Knick Knacks has a special snow globe as you enter. It’s a wonderful shop for unique merchandise tied to all things Pixar.
Across the street is Lamplight Lounge. While alcohol is on the list, the real fare is in its food, which includes a wonderful lobster nachos. This is a great place to enjoy World of Color, as well as memorabilia tied to the Pixar Studios.
As you approach the main boardwalk, there are several billboards along the boardwalk welcoming you with themes from different Pixar films. Also, guests love the Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats, which includes…yellow snow…kind of.
There are four neighborhoods to this revised area. The first is Incredibles Park. The thread that runs through all of this, and perhaps all of Pixar Pier is Incredicoaster. This is a thrilling steel roller coaster, though it looks like a wooden roller coaster. The queues are long all day, but if there’s a better time to enjoy it, it would be at night when all the lights are on throughout Pixar Pier.

Next door is Jack-Jack Cookie Num Numbs, which plays into the loosely contrived plot line of IncrediCoaster. Don’t miss the chocolate chip cookie–especially if you love cold milk with it. Adjacent is a meet ‘n’ greet location for photo opportunities with favorite members of The Incredibles.
We transition from Incredibles to Toy Story Boardwalk. New is Jessie’s Critter Carousel.
A big attraction here is Midway Mania.. Your experience begins with Mr. Potato Head as a barker, inviting you in to play the games of the midway.
Once on board your ride vehicle spins from one carnival booth to another, where you shoot at different targets using different items such as rings, darts and eggs
There are two dining food & beverage kiosks on the Toy Story Boardwalk: Poultry Palace, a fun place inspired by Pixar’s short, “Toy Story Toon: Small Fry” and Señor Buzz Churros, where you can find these classic Disneyland snacks. Disneyland loves their churros, and this one offers a spicy option.
All the films are represented by Pixar Promenade, the third neighborhood. The centerpiece here, and for the entire Pixar Pier is the ferris wheel, which has a new name. I will state it once to prove what a silly name it is–Pixar Pal-A-Round. We will probably not refer to this name again. Way too long, as can be the queue.
As a contrast to the virtual games played at Midway Mania, there are physical games of skill that can be played here. Heimlich’s Toss involves tossing candy corn bags into the mouth of a very hungry caterpillar. Shoot water at the bullets to win a prize at Wall-E Space Race. La luna Star Catcher involves a sort of fish pond where you gather stars. It guarantees a prize.
These aren’t the Hunger Games, but if you’re hungry after the games–and if you’re angry you didn’t win–you might check out Angry Dogs with it’s spicy dog. It’s on your way to the fourth and final neighborhood.
That fourth neighborhood is Inside Out Headquarters. There are two components. Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff brings, well…sweet stuff…with Bing Bon in the center of it crying candies.
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is the latest attraction to come to Pixar Pier, and re-themes a previous spinner attraction once found in Bug’s Land. With its balls and colors, it is especially beautiful at night.
